1. Introduction
PlayWendGame (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information is involved when you play Wend, how it is used, and the choices you have. Playing does not require an account, and we keep data collection minimal by design.
2. Information we collect
We do not require registration and do not collect personal identifiers such as your name, email address, or phone number. Your gameplay progress, streaks, and best times are stored locally in your browser via localStorage so they persist between sessions. Clearing your browser storage resets that data.
3. How we use information
Locally stored progress exists only to run the game on your device — to restore a board in progress, track streaks, and remember preferences. Aggregate, anonymized analytics (below) help us understand which pages are used so we can improve the site.
4. Third-party services
If the operator has enabled Google Analytics 4 (via the NEXT_PUBLIC_GA_MEASUREMENT_ID environment variable), aggregated, anonymized usage data such as page views and referrers may be processed by Google on our behalf. If analytics are not enabled, no analytics cookies are set. We run no advertising and use no ad networks. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the official browser add-on.
5. Cookies and tracking
We do not use cookies for advertising. The only cookies that may be set are those from Google Analytics when analytics is enabled; everything needed to save your game progress uses localStorage, not cookies. You can control or clear both through your browser settings.
6. Data sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We share data only with the analytics processor described above, or where required by law.
7. Data security
Because we collect no accounts and no personal identifiers, there is little sensitive data to expose. Data stored in your browser stays on your device. We take reasonable measures to keep the site secure, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Under applicable privacy laws you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we do not collect personal identifiers for gameplay, you can exercise most of these rights simply by clearing your browser storage. For anything else, contact us (below).
9. Children’s privacy
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. There is no account system and no personal data is required to play.
10. Data retention
Locally stored progress remains in your browser until you clear it. Anonymized analytics are retained by Google per Google’s own retention settings.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the “last updated” date above.
